The lagoon Lagoa de Albufeira is located on the
western edge of the Setúbal peninsula, on the
coast axis Caparica - Espichel, about 20
km south of Lisbon.
It is a place
of unusual beauty, combiningsea and lagoonwith
extensive pine forests.
The lagoon
has optimumcharacteristicsfor the practiceof sport fishing,

windsurfing.
It consists oftwo main
lakesconnected by a narrow,
winding andshallow channel:the
LagoaPequena,innermostand
shallowerandLagoaGrande,with adepth
of about15 meters.
